Blower monitoring questions
Answers about measurements, supported equipment, alerts, connectivity and deployment in Australia and New Zealand.
- SCADA stands for Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition. It collects operating data and reports equipment status. For blower systems, it can alert operators to pressure loss, current changes and other faults that may affect aquaculture, wastewater treatment or manufacturing.
- A typical installation records discharge pressure, discharge temperature, rotor speed, supply voltage, motor current, power consumption and runtime hours. Available measurements depend on the blower controller and sensors at the site.
- The collection interval can be configured from 100 milliseconds to 60 seconds. When a reading crosses an alarm limit, AeroPilot reports it through the dashboard and any configured email, SMS or webhook notification.
- AeroPilot can connect to equipment from Sprintex, Atlas Copco, Kaeser, Aerzen, Gardner Denver, Howden and other manufacturers. Supported interfaces include 4-20mA, Modbus RTU/TCP, BACnet and Ethernet-based controller connections.
- Plants can track specific power, discharge pressure, energy per ML treated and load sharing between blowers. These trends can help operators investigate diffuser fouling, restrictions and inefficient operating periods.
- Yes. AeroPilot supports rotary screw, scroll and centrifugal compressors. It can track specific power, pressure decay and sequencing across variable-speed and fixed-speed machines.
- Condition-based maintenance uses operating trends to identify developing faults. AeroPilot can compare efficiency, vibration, temperature and current readings with the established baseline, then issue an advisory when they move outside the configured range.
- The gateway can use Ethernet, Wi-Fi or cellular data. It stores readings locally during a connection outage and sends them when the connection returns. Remote sites can use a suitable satellite service where required.
- AeroPilot is a product of FishMind Technologies Pty Ltd, based in Melbourne. We work with operators across Australia and New Zealand. Data can be hosted in an Australian cloud region or on site.
- Yes. AeroPilot provides REST and WebSocket interfaces, while the gateway supports BACnet and Modbus. The available connection method depends on the existing control system and site network.
